A magical time of year. We transferred with Brewster coaches from Calgary Airport to our hotel in Banff. It is important to pre-book the transfers as it is peak season during this time of year. You need at least three days to explore the Banff and Lake Louise areas of the Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.
There are many winter activities to enjoy during Canadian Rockies tours including horse drawn sleigh rides, ice skating on Lake Louise, dog sledding and ski-ing at the nearby mountain resorts. A highlight of our visit was going on the gondola to Sulphur Mountain (2,451 metres in elevation). The observation decks afforded spectacular views of Bow Valley.
Appropriate layered clothing is a must, as the daytime temperature on one day was -15 degrees centigrade. A little chilly for a Queenslander!
