"I returned in March from my African adventure to Botswana and haven’t been able to stop talking about it.
It is truly a remarkable part of the world, I wasn't sure what to expect having never been to Africa but I hoped that my experience resembled something similar found in the pictures of our brochures… And, it was so much more! I believe that words cannot begin to explain the true beauty of Botswana, the humble proud people, the extraordinary animal sightings and the stunning camps/lodges that became home for the 2 weeks away.
I flew Business Class with South African Airways allowing me to hit the ground running when we arrived, which was lucky as some of the best game viewing was first thing in the morning so getting used to early starts was essential. However, due to the heat there is generally time most afternoons for a power nap if needed. An unexpected highlight was flying on the small planes between each camp getting the best view over the Okavango Delta. I travelled in rainy season and was really lucky that it only rained once giving my group the most spectacular game viewing experience due to it being off season there was very few other safari's.
I have to give special mention to each of the African camps and lodges I stayed in, and I would highly recommend all of them. I would even suggest combining your Botswana experience between a few, probably not as many as I did but they each offer such a unique experience.
My tip, bring an extra memory card for your camera or one really large memory card because you really want to be able to just keep clicking and not worry about running out of space. I'm not particularly good with a camera so if I can take a great photo, anyone can when you’re that close to the wildlife.
The camps/lodges that I stayed at, in order; Okavango Expeditions, Meno A Kwena Camp, Machaba Camp, Pom Pom Camp, Stanley's Camp by Sanctuary Retreats & Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge by &Beyond."
